About the Package:

Food intolerance profile is advised to identify sensitivity/ intolerance to a particular food creating abnormal reaction. A person with a food intolerance has difficulty digesting certain foods. Just by removing that particular food from diet, it can rectify the condition and improve quality of life. Food intolerances are more common in those with digestive system disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Our body produces digestive enzymes to break down foods. If a person lacks certain enzymes, they may be less able to digest certain foods hence leading to intolerance. Some common foods that causes intolerances are lactose, gluten, fructose etc

A person with a food intolerance often experiences discomfort soon after consumption of certain foods. The symptoms are varied and usually involve the digestive system.

  • bloating

  • excess gas

  • stomach pain

  • diarrhoea

  • migraine

  • headaches

  • Sense of uneasiness/ malaise.

The symptoms of food intolerances takes a while to appear. The onset may occur several hours after ingesting a food, and the symptoms may persist for several hours or days.

Food intolerance Vs Food allergy :

People often get confused by the terms allergy and intolerance. Food intolerance is a digestive system response rather than an immune system response. It occurs when food irritates a person’s digestive system or when a person is unable to properly digest, or break down, the food. Meanwhile, food allergy is an immune system response. It is caused when the body mistakes an ingredient in food as harmful and creates a defence system (antibodies) to fight it

Why should you do food intolerance profile?

These tests checks your level of sensitivity to different foods, including gluten and dairy products, as well as various meats, fruits, nuts and vegetables. It measures your sensitivity levels by examining your body’s IgG immune response to each type of food included in the panel. By finding the foods that you are sensitive to, elimination diets can minimize or completely obliterate food sensitivity symptoms.
